Welcome to the Bishop McVinney School website!
This fall we celebrate 100 years of providing Catholic education in our community, first as Saint Michael's School and continuing for the past 52 years as Bishop McVinney Regional School. This milestone reflects a legacy of faith, learning, and service that has shaped generations of students.
At BMV, we are honored to partner with families in South Providence and the surrounding areas to provide an affordable, high-quality Catholic education. Our school community is rooted in the Gospel message of Jesus Christ. We believe every child is created with purpose and promise, and we work each day to nurture their growth; academically, socially, and spiritually.
Whether you are a current family or exploring our school for the first time, we invite you to learn more about the vibrant, welcoming community that makes BMV so special.
Thank you for trusting in us! We look forward to partnering with you as your child begins or continues their academic career with the BMV family.
In Christ,
Mrs. Mallory Dunphy
Interim Principal
“At one point during this school year, a child at Bishop McVinney School learned to say the ‘Our Father,’ was shown forgiveness, and was given a second chance to experience the love of God and to know Jesus through our faculty and staff.”

As I enter my retirement after thirty-five years as a teacher and principal, those words resonate with me now more than ever. It is through our Bishop McVinney School community that many of our students have come to know and experience the love of Jesus Christ. For that I am truly humbled and honored to be part of such a blessed faith-filled community.
I feel fortunate to have collaborated with such a dedicated and compassionate team: our faculty and staff, school board, volunteers, students and families. Being with such wonderful children each day and witnessing the transformative power of a quality Catholic school education has been the greatest reward for me. We say that through education, we help to change lives. Bishop McVinney School has certainly changed mine. I feel so blessed to have had the opportunity to have led this exceptional school. Thank you for your continued support of Bishop McVinney School.
Gratefully,
Mr. Hebert
